The Korean company will soon put a whole new range of electric cars on the market. Specifically, they have already unveiled the new EV3, an SUV that when it hits the market is expected to cost around 35,000 euros starting point, thus positioning itself as one of the firm’s most attractive models. However, this will not be the only one arriving soon.

Later, the already announced EV5 will also make an appearance, another electric SUV larger than the EV3 and with more technology. Its starting price is still unknown but it is expected to be around 40,000 or 45,000 euros.

Finally, it is also expected the arrival of the EV4 in the form of an electric sedan, as well as the EV2, as the cheapest and most accessible model in the range. The latter will still take a while to arrive, as it is expected to be a reality from the end of 2026. In parallel, they will continue to create alternatives to the ‘EV’ range, such as the electric Kona that they already market.

In the coming years, new models will arrive, such as the KIA EV4.

KIA presents its long-term sales vision

But it was not until a convention held in Berlin, Germany, with different official distributors of the brand, where they gave their long-term sales vision. Explicitly, By 2028 they expect to sell a total of 800,000 cars per year.. Of this total, 85% of its registrations will be attributed to electric cars; that is, about 680,000 units annually throughout Europe.

As a reference to all this, KIA sold a total of 572,297 units in Europe in 2023, of which 37.9% (217,145 vehicles) belonged to electrified alternatives.

At a global level, KIA has also set its own objectives, with which they hope to achieve the 1.6 million electric vehicles registered by 2030. In addition to the current and future range that will make up the range of KIA models, we must add to this the different mechanical variants or finishes, such as the GT, the sports alternatives. Let us remember that the EV6 already has a GT option, while the EV9 will be the next to adopt this high-performance version.

The KIA EV3 is expected to be the ‘best-seller’ when sales begin in Europe.

However, despite the fact that its interests are placed almost entirely in electric cars for the future, the Korean firm will not discard vehicles with hybrid mechanics. By 2028, of the remaining 120,000 cars that will not be pure electric, almost all of them will belong to electrified alternatives.

But, How do you expect to achieve such a sales figure for your electric cars? The firm’s plans predict a range of ‘zero emissions’ models with an affordable price for the general public. But these, in addition to directly attacking the market price, will also place special emphasis on its aesthetic image, as well as its technology, something that is already emphasized within the brand today.
