Frankfurt (Germany), June 10 (EFECOM).- The German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom has purchased an additional package of 6.7 million shares of its American subsidiary T-Mobile US, corresponding to 0.6% of its capital, to the Japanese SoftBank for 666.72 million dollars (about 620 million euros).
Deutsche Telekom reported this Monday in a statement that it has exercised the purchase options on the shares of its subsidiary that it agreed with SoftBank in June 2020.
Then the companies agreed on a price of $101.46 per share, which has finally been reduced to $99.51 per share to take into account the dividend payments of $1.95 that the listed company has made since then.
Through this agreement, the German telecom has acquired the shares at a 45% discount on the current price, which was $179.82 per share at the close of last Friday, and has consolidated its stake in T-Mobile, by owning more of 50% of the share capital.
With the closing of this transaction, Deutsche Telekom has exercised all 44.9 million fixed-price T-Mobile stock options as part of its agreement with SoftBank. EFECOM
