The software engineering and information technology company Globant announced the opening of a new call for 500 scholarships in the area of ​​technology for Latin Americans.

According to the company, Half of the scholarships will be exclusively for women and non-binary people to promote gender equality in the sector. Registration will be open until June 24, and classes will begin in August.

Beneficiaries will receive training through Globant University, the company’s learning and development division. This platform will offer training and professional development programs for both employees, clients and partners.

The program, titled Code Your Futurewill last eight months and will be available to citizens over 24 years of age residing in Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and Peru. The training will be 100% online, under the guidance of professional mentors in the area.

In the programs, beneficiaries will learn the following:

Backend with Java:

  • In this degree you will learn how to develop modern applications with Java and Spring from scratch.

  • Test automation will allow you to build software that is capable of guaranteeing the highest quality in web and mobile apps automatically.
  • With this course, you will have the possibility of entering the world of software quality control, using different tools such as Selenium and Cypress, and starting from languages ​​such as Java and JavaScript.
  • You will learn in detail the best practices to build a robust automation system, develop and manage quality control solutions for the best software projects, including development, automation, verification and infrastructure technologies, in order to have a complete and high-value profile. both for the current industry and for your professional career.

Regarding the minimum requirements to participatethe company highlighted the following:

  • Have completed secondary education (secondary education).
  • Residing in one of the following Latin American countries: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay.
  • Have access to computer equipment (laptop or desktop computer; camera and microphone; (stable Internet connection; RAM 2 GB; available space 4 GB; processor with 2 or more cores; speed 2.0 GHz.)
  • Basic computer skills (folder management, navigation, email, e-mail)
  • Intermediate level of English: there are contents taken in English.
  • Commitment to the completion of the course.
  • Time availability (8 hours of synchronous course and 4 of asynchronous course per week). Synchronous classes will be from Monday to Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay-GMT -3 and from 5 to 7 p.m. in Peru and Colombia-GMT -5.
