Buying water bottles: an escape of money for your pocket

Pineda put it in very simple terms:

“You are going to buy a bottle four times a week and each bottle costs 3,000 pesos, that is, you are spending 12,000 pesos per week. We multiply it by the 52 weeks of the year and that gives us that you are spending 624,000 pesos a year on water bottles,” he said.

The financial content creator compared that expense with another alternative: that of a water filter or a reusable bottle. And that put costs that would still be high.

The bottle costs us 50,000 pesos and the filter costs between 120,000 or 200,000 pesos and let’s say that the filter replacement costs you 40,000 pesos every 6 months,” he added.

That sum amounts to between 200,000 and 300,000 pesos. There comes the savings, in addition to another implicit benefit for the environment.

“Compared to the 624,000 pesos for water bottles, you are saving a lot of money and you are also having a positive impact on the environment,” he concluded.
