The German premium automaker Audi presented the Q8 e-tron in Argentina, his new SUV electric high-end. It is the restyling of the original e-tron, launched for the first time in the country at the end of 2020. It has improved aerodynamics and a range of up to 600 kilometers per charge.
In terms of design, the sporty-looking model arrives in two silhouettes: classic SUV (Q8 55 e-tron quattro) and Sportback (Sportback 55 e-tron quattro), the fastback style version. For both, the dimensions are 4,915 mm long, 1,937 mm wide and 1,619 mm (Sportback) or 1,633 mm (SUV) high, and 2,928 mm wheelbase.
He lighting system is Matrix LED HD, which automatically adjusts the intensity and direction of the light beams to avoid glare. It also includes low beam cornering lights via satellite positioning, and a headlight cleaning function that improves visibility in poor weather conditions.
One of the standout features of the new Q8 e-tron is the aerodynamics: The resistance coefficient is 0.27 in the classic SUV version and 0.24 in the Sportback version, the brand highlighted.
The numbers are the product of the incorporation of new spoilers, a self-sealing system in the radiator grill, and tires with finishes that wrap around the bottom and help optimize air flow.
Additionally, customers can optionally equip their Audi Q8 e-tron with virtual exterior mirrors which also contribute to greater energy efficiency and, ultimately, a better aerodynamic drag coefficient.
With the latter system, images are digitally processed and displayed on seven-inch OLED screens with automatic brightness control and proximity sensor and automatic warm-up function to prevent cameras from fogging up or freezing.

Inside, the SUV has a panoramic glass roof with electric opening and four-zone automatic climate control. Optionally, it also has a three-stage ventilation system.
Like all the high-performance models of the German firm, it has the MMI touch response operating system, with two high-resolution touch screens of 10.1 and 8.6 inches respectively, which replace almost all the switches and controls of traditional cabins.

Among other details, it also has the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound 3D sound system: 16 speakers and a total power of 705 watts.
The trunk has capacity for 569 liters (528 liters in the Sportback) and, in addition, it has a 62-liter front trunk.
On the other hand, in line with the automaker’s sustainable goal – which establishes that, starting in 2025, all Audi plants operate with net zero emissions -, components such as carpets, belt buckle covers, decorative elements and parts of the insulation and damping system, were manufactured from the reuse of mixed plastics and chemical recycling.
In terms of mechanics, both versions have quattro traction, a power of 408 hp and a torque of 664 Nm, allowing a acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. Maximum speed is electronically limited in 200 km/h.
The autonomy is the other great subtitle: from up to 582 kilometers per charge for the classic SUV and up to 600 for the Sportback. This is because the original e-tron’s battery was upgraded to reach a storage capacity of 114 kWh.
Furthermore, it has a thermal management system which allows fast direct current charging of up to 170 kW. This system cools and heats the high-voltage battery, uses waste energy from the electronic components to heat or condition the cabin air, and cools the electric motors, power electronics, and battery charger.
This technology achieves greater energy density and achieves 20% more capacity in the same spaceincreasing the efficiency of the vehicle.
The Audi Q8 e-tron -in its two formats- It is now available at official Audi dealers in Argentina. The reference values for the model are US$233,850 for the SUV version and US$243,850 for the Sportback version.
