Madrid, June 22 (.).- The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will be 26.76 (MWh) tomorrow, Sunday, which will mean a decrease of 37.64% compared to today’s price, according to the data from the Iberian market operator, OMIE, collected by EFE.
On Sunday there will be nine hours with the price of the negative megawatt, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., both included; and at ten hours it will have a price of 0 euros.
The price of electricity will reach its maximum tomorrow between 11 and midnight, when it will be at 95.62; and its minimum at -2 at 4 and 5 p.m.
The average price of electricity in these days of June rises to 51.93 dollars, which would once again place the VAT amount on the electricity bill at 10% next month, after four months -March, April, May and June – when it was established at 21%.
Although the Government set the VAT on the electricity bill at 10% for the entire year 2024, it established that, when in the wholesale market its average in the month will not exceed 45, in the following month a VAT of the following month would be applied. 21% to all consumers, both those in the free market and those in the regulated market, except for the severely vulnerable, for whom 10% is maintained.
The wholesale price of electricity in Spain will be lower than that of Portugal (26.98) and other large European economies, since in France it will be 31.77 and in Germany it will be 50.05.
