On October 10, 1991, Decree Number 2,128 of the Executive Branch ordered the implementation of the Peso Line as of January 1, 1992. Establishing its parity at 10 thousand australes. Its broadcast was carried out by Central Bank of the Argentine Republic.
Until today, the Argentine Peso is the legal tender used in our country. And their nominal values include both coins and bills that evolved over the years due to the distortions generated by accumulated inflation.

Currently, the bills that continue to be accepted as legal tender in Argentina range from 10 to 10 thousand pesos. The latter was issued this year 2024.
Next, we will detail which banknotes exist as legal tender in our country.
10 Argentine pesos
There are 2 versions. Both have the portrait of General Manuel Belgrano on the front of the bill. One was issued during the 1990s and the other from 2016.
20 Argentine pesos
There are also 2 versions of this ticket. The difference is that those issued during the 90s until 2016 even have the portrait of Juan Manuel de Rosas on the obverse, while starting in 2017 an image of a guanaco, a representative animal of the Patagonian steppe, appears.
50 pesos
These banknotes have 3 different series. In those issued since 1992, the obverse pays tribute to Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, while the second, issued since 2015, shows the Malvinas Islands. There is a third copy, in circulation since 2018 that has the Andean Condor on the front.
100 pesos
There are also 3 different types of specimens. In the first of them, there is the portrait of Julio Argentino Roca on the front of the bill. In the second, there is the portrait of Eva Duarte de Perón, issued since 2012. And the third line has the Taruca, a deer native to Argentine territory.
200 and 500 pesos
These banknotes have the particularity of having been issued since 2016 and there is a type of copy of each one. The 200 is blue and has a portrait of the Southern Right Whale on the obverse. While the 500 is green and has the Yaguareté
1000 pesos
In the case of the 1000 peso bill, there are again 2 different versions. In 2017 it began to be broadcast with the portrait of the ovenbird, a native Argentine bird in front. And starting in 2023, the portrait of José de San Martín was used, who was on the 5 pesos that went out of circulation starting in 2022.
2000 pesos
These copies were issued starting in 2023 and have 2 historical figures on the front. Cecilia Grierson and Ramón Carrillo.
10000 pesos
In 2024, the 10 thousand Argentine peso bill finally appeared. In front you can see the portrait of Manuel Belgrano and María Remedios del Valle.
