Index futures point to a flat or slightly higher opening of today’s cash session for the major European stock indices. This comes after a rather bearish session in Asia-Pacific today, during which most of the region’s indices fell. EUR and GBP are the best performing major currencies, while JPY and USD are the laggards. Cryptocurrencies are pulling back sharply, with Bitcoin falling 2% and Dogecoin trading 6% lower.

Today’s economic calendar is light, as is usually the case on Mondays. Traders will be offered the June German IFO index at 10:00 am, as well as the June Dallas Fed index at 3:30 pm BST. Apart from that, today’s schedule includes a series of speeches from members of the ECB, the Fed and the BoC.
