SAN DIEGO – The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in San Diego County rose 1.9 cents to $4.841 this Tuesday, a day after reporting no changes.

The average price is 1.5 cents higher than a week ago, 26.8 cents lower than a month ago and 4.4 cents lower than a year ago, according to figures from the American Petroleum Association (AAA) and the Oil Price Information Service. In total it has decreased by $1,594, since reaching the record of $6,435 on October 5, 2022.

The national average price rose 2.1 cents, to $3.469, a day after it rose one tenth.
That’s 2.9 cents more than a week ago, but 13 cents less than a month ago and 10.5 cents less than a month ago.

The national average price has fallen by $1,547 since hitting a record high of $5,016 on June 14, 2022.

`With the official start of summer, we have seen that the national average price of gasoline has remained stable compared to last week,
while in other states prices have slowly fallen,” says Patrick De Haan, head of oil analysis at GasBuddy.

“For now, gas prices may change little before July 4, as oil has surpassed $80.” But the good news is that despite the rise in oil prices, they are holding steady, Patrick said.

He added that the bad news is that the expected declines will have to wait, thanks to the rise in oil, he concluded.
