The former president of Uruguay, José Mujica, known as Pepe Mujica, He revealed in a press conference that he suffers from a tumor in the esophagus that is difficult to treat. He argued that he found out after undergoing a medical check-up.
“I need to inform you that last Friday I went (…) to have a check-up, in which it was discovered that I have a tumor in the esophagus, which is obviously very serious and which is doubly complex in my case, because I have suffered from an immunological disease for more than 20 years,” said the 88-year-old former president.
In addition, he took the opportunity to say that he will continue with his activities until the day he can’t take it anymore.
“I want to convey to the girls and boys that life is beautiful, but it wears out and falls. The point is to start over every time one falls, and if there is anger, transform it into hope. “No one saves themselves,” Mujica said.

Given this news, the Spanish singer Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro, known in the music industry as Alejandro Sanz, spoke out from his X account to send a message of gratitude to the former Uruguayan president, arguing that he “He taught us that we always have to get up.”
