David Beckham is named ‘ambassador’ of the King Charles III Foundation

The former English footballer David Beckham was appointed ‘ambassador’ of the King’s Foundation Charles III of the United Kingdom, the charity established in 1986 by the monarch when he was Prince of Wales and which is intended to support traditional crafts and the rural world.

Confirmation of Beckham’s work was announced this Sunday, weeks after the former athlete met with the king privately to learn more about his new job.

“I am excited to be working with the King’s Foundation and having the opportunity to help raise awareness of the work of this charity. I have always wanted to help young people broaden their horizons and am particularly keen to support the Educational programs of the foundation and its efforts to ensure that young people have greater access to nature,” he added.

In photographs published by the press, Beckham appears with the king at the door of Highgrovethe country residence of the head of state in the county of Gloucestershire (western English).

The foundation offers workshops, programs and short courses focused on craft and rural skills.

“After developing a love for the countryside, I am also on a personal mission to learn more about the rural skills that are so fundamental to the work of the FoundationBeckham said in a statement to the media.

“It was inspiring to hear the king speak about the work of His Majesty’s foundation during my recent visit to Highgrove Gardens”he highlighted.
