“We have decided not to get married,” says Carmen Gloria Arroyo about her eleven-year relationship with former model and barbecue entrepreneur Bernardo Borgeat. In Podemos Hablar, the lawyer also explained the request that her three children made to her regarding her future with Borgeat, also the father of three children:
«I had been separated for nine years, but my children had never met any slut, boyfriend, wanderer, because I respect my children a lot. They are the most important thing I have in life. So it was difficult for them to get to know Bernardo. It was a process.
«They knew him as the friend, as the man that the mother went out with to the movies, out there, and then as the boyfriend, as the couple. Years have passed and we have formed a wonderful family. My children adore him. He has a complicity with my children. He is like a good child. So that makes him very friendly with my children. And that is one of the things that has made me fall in love with and solidified this relationship.
“We have decided not to get married, and the moment has come when my children, while talking, decided to tell me ‘Mom, if something were to happen to you, we want all of this to remain the same with Bernardo.’
“For me it was super shocking and it was a confirmation that one does not need to sign a paper or a notebook to have responsibility in the relationship and a real commitment.”
