The businesswoman showed a suede outfit that she obtained through an auction for $25,000 dollarswhich consists of a top with buttons and white applications on the sides, a matching necklace and hip pants tied with black ribbons and bangs on the sides.
The outfit was worn by Janet Jackson for the “If” video clip and was auctioned in 2021 by Julien’s, reaching a value of $25,000.
The Skims founder shared that she chose to wear the outfit to attend a concert by Michael Jackson’s sister, who is currently touring the United States with her ‘Together Again Tour’.
Kardashian confirmed on her Instagram account that it was Jackson’s original outfit: “For @janetjackson’s birthday, because I’m such a fan I can’t believe she won this outfit“She commented, sharing an image where the singer appears wearing the outfit.
Moments later, Janet Jackson responded to Kim Kardashian’s story, thanking her for the congratulations she sent her.
“Thank you very much @kimkardashian. I hope ‘If’ gives you as much pleasure as it does me,” the “That’s The Way Love Goes” singer responded.
This is not the first time that the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star has acquired a ‘souvenir’ from the Jackson family. In 2017, she and her then-husband Kanye West bought a unique jacket that Janet Jackson’s late brother, Michael Jackson, had worn for his daughter North, and the fedora style hat white that the “king of pop” used in the video for ‘Smooth Criminal’ in 1988.
