“We are going to take the trial to the end,” warns Pamela Díaz’s lawyer in the newspaper LUN. Because the 43-year-old former model got so angry with the jokes that Hugo Valencia and Adriana Barrientos made on the Zona de Estrellas program that she filed a complaint for insults and slander with advertising and asked for jail time.
It all started with a short video of Daniela Aránguiz and Luis Mateucci in Peru, when they were locked up in the Channel 13 reality show Tierra Brava. According to Aránguiz, it was an internal recording where someone violated what was an intimate thing, not to be published, and published it in Peru.
In the images that last a few seconds, Aránguiz tells Mateucci: “Pamela even put marijuana into the reality show.” It was then assumed that Daniela was talking about Pamela Díaz, who was also in Tierra Brava. Now Aránguiz assures that she was not talking about Pamela Díaz, but about another Pamela…
The video went viral in Chile and appeared in entertainment venues, such as Zona de Estrellas.
On the Zona Latina cable signal program they reviewed the short video and, just as they do with other topics, they discussed the size for a long time. It was evident that they were jokes, humor, entertainment, everyone laughed at phrases like “the ‘La Negra’ poster!”, “The queen of the south!”, “similarities with Pablo Escobar!”.
In the middle of the lesson – always referring to cannabis – they also specified, in a serious manner, that the former model does not consume marijuana.
But Díaz didn’t laugh.
Panelists have said that the reality girl had lost a couple of sponsors and filed a complaint. Before the trial an attempt was made to reach an agreement. Pamela apologized publicly and demanded that Hugo Valencia not name her again for three years. The ban also applies to Adriana Barrientos, but for her it is five years.
Valencia explained in the newspaper LUN: «This meant that I could not mention her at a barbecue, nor say that she was the host of a program. If she did so, she had to pay one and a half million each time.
The reporter and Adriana refused. «I am a journalist and in my work I am called to inform. “I couldn’t accept the conciliation they offered me because in practice it means stopping working in the media,” explains the professional who will now go to trial.
