Bombo Fica fue uno de los invitados al espacio de conversación de Chilevisión, Podemos Hablar.
En el diálogo con Julio César Rodríguez, el humorista reflexionó en torno al último problema de salud que tuvo en medio de su gira por Europa, y, además, reveló otro episodio en donde estuvo en riesgo su vida.
Según recordó, en un viaje familiar a Cancún en el 2021 le dio covid. “Fue asintomático, andaba con la familia. En ese momento la gente se moría. Por protocolo me tenía que quedar allá y mi familia se tenía que devolver”.
“Tenía 14 días de cuarentena. Hasta el día 7 estaba bien, ahí me empezó una pequeña fiebre. Pero el día 8 ya tenía 39, me estaba doliendo el cuerpo. El médico me dice que este era el peak del covid. Me quedé tranquilo y al día siguiente fue peor, tenía 40 de fiebre”, recordó.
The comedian pointed out that he communicated by message with his family every day. “Everything hurt, even my eyelashes. I would put myself in a tub with ice to reduce the fever. The doctor came to see me and he told me that they had to intubate me. I told him no. “He told me that I was going to die if I stayed here.”
Far from listening to his doctor, Bombo Fica chose to stay at the hotel, since he did not want to die in a hospital.
“I thought I was going to die anywhere, so I decided to stay at the hotel. I decided to die there… I decided to call my friend and told him: ‘I’m going to die.’ I told him everything I had to do, that I had to tell my family that I love them and I cut it off. “I lay down to wait for death,” he pointed.

In the same conversation, Bombo Fica explained that “the biggest fear I had was closing my eyes, because I thought I was not going to open them anymore. I thought two seconds had passed and I woke up. I realized that the color of the room was not the same, I didn’t feel anything, I didn’t understand, it didn’t hurt at all.”
“A feeling came over me and I said ‘I died.’ I didn’t want to look back, because I was going to see my body in the bed. And I looked and he wasn’t dead, a strange feeling came to me.”he added.
After realizing that he was not “dead,” he went out to the beach to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Sea, around six in the morning.
“There I asked God for forgiveness for the mistakes I had made. I apologized to myself and was very happy to know that I had a new opportunity. “I wanted to be with my children, with my family, the simple things”he pointed out excitedly.
