At a recent concert of the Foo Fighters in Manchester, England, the vocalist Dave Grohl sparked controversy by making sarcastic comments about Taylor Swift and his “Eras Tour” tour. During the June 15 performance, Grohl, 55, took several moments between songs to refer to the singer and her current concert series in the United Kingdom, drawing a comparison to his own band.
As they prepared to play the next song, Grohl commented: “Now I feel like Taylor Swift”, a statement that received a mixed reaction from the public, between boos and applause. “I should feel so lucky.” The interaction, captured on video by a TikTok user named StrettyEnd, sparked discussion on social media over the vocalist’s insinuations about Swift.
Dave continued: “Listen, tonight is my ‘Eras Tour’, OK? I have many eras,” before humorously clarifying, “they spell mistakes. This is my ‘Errors Tour’, how about that?” The comment was received with laughter and applause from the audience. Additionally, he suggested that that might have been a suitable alternative for the name of his tour: “That’s what we should have called this damn tour: The Errors Tour.”.
Later in the show, Grohl again referred to Swift and her “Errors Tour,” joking about justifying the name due to the mistakes his band makes on stage. “I know we were joking about Taylor Swift’s tour earlier. I know she’s on her Eras Tour,” he said, drawing boos from the audience.
“I’m telling you, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” warned the group’s leader. “So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’ because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few damn mistakes also”. In the middle of his comment, Grohl seemed to throw a dig at Swift by adding: “That’s because we do play live.”.
After a brief pause, the vocalist concluded: “We are a live band! You like live rock music, right? “They came to the right place.” These statements, which seemed to imply that Swift does not perform live, provoked numerous reactions on networks, especially considering that she does perform live.
