Suri, the daughter of actor Tom Cruise, dropped her paternal surname during her graduation ceremony in New York, which her father did not attend, the Los Angeles Times reports on Tuesday.
At her graduation, which took place last Friday from LaGuardia High School in New York, the 18-year-old chose to be called “Suri Noelle” instead of Suri Cruise, the Los Angeles newspaper explained.
The young woman also used that name earlier this year when she appeared in a high school production of the musical titled “Head Over Heels.” Noelle is the middle name of her mother, actress Katie Holmes, says the Los Angeles Times.
Apparently, the protagonist of the “Mission: Impossible” saga is currently in London where he is filming one of the installments of this series of action films.
Suri was born in 2006, just before her parents got married. The marriage lasted until 2012, when the actress filed for divorce.
In addition to the recent graduate, Cruise is also the father of Bella, 31, and Connor, 29, whom he adopted with Nicole Kidman when they were married. EFE
