The heartbreaking words of the Golden Triplets on the anniversary of the death of Geñi Laprida, daughter of María Eugenia: “We will be together”

Six years after the death of Geñi Laprida, the Golden Triplets decided to remember her and dedicated some moving words to her on their Instagram account. “Six years without you, Geñi. “We miss you more and more”says the post along with a photo of the young woman who died in 2018 after fighting cancer.

The pain over Eugenia’s departure is still present, and the triplets expressed it: “Time doesn’t pass, but we find you every day in Cesitar and Cala. That gives us peace to continue”. They also added: “We’ll be together.”

The eldest daughter of María Eugenia Fernández Rousse and Horacio Laprida, Geñi, died in the early morning of June 25, 2018. The plastic artist had been hospitalized two weeks earlier in the German Hospital after her health worsened and she had to be induced into a pharmacological coma.

Eugenia Laprida was 34 years old, she was the eldest of María Eugenia’s daughters and was the mother of two children: César, 11 years old, and Cala, 5. In 2015 she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and after the operation she underwent, she began treatment with chemotherapy and medications to attack the cancer cells.

Geñi had graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Arts from the Argentine Social Museum University.

The diagnosis was shocking for Geñi, who despite the news, always remained positive, close to her family, who accompanied her until the last moment, connected to art and committed to raising her children.

The sad news of the death of María Eugenia’s eldest daughter had an impact on the entertainment world, not only because of Geñi’s early departure, but until now the struggle that the plastic artist was going through was unknown. Her mother and her aunts chose to protect her and took the pain inside her homes and took refuge in her families.

Silently, the family had to gather strength in the summer of 2018 when Geñi’s health worsened. After undergoing different studies, the analyzes showed that her cancer cells had expanded and that the young woman had tumors in her head.

Doctors informed the family that it was impossible to perform an operation to remove them. With a lot of pain, they had to accept the worst ending and accompany Geñi until her body said enough.

During the 15 days prior to her death, the eldest Laprida was admitted to the Alemán Hospital accompanied by her husband César, her sisters Laura and Pilar, her parents and her aunts, María Laura and María Emilia.

The medical team that treated her decided that the best thing for her was to put her in a coma and avoid further suffering. On Monday the 25th, Geñi died while her mother was singing a song that she had written for her. María Eugenia held her daughter’s hand at all times, accompanying her in the most difficult moment for anyone, and much more so for a mother: saying goodbye to her first love.

Her family said goodbye to her the next day at the Memorial Cemetery in Pilar, where there was a brief funeral service but no wake. Her husband César and her children were the first to arrive. María Eugenia arrived accompanied by her husband and sisters, who supported her at all times.

On the sixth anniversary of her departure, her loved ones have her more present than ever and despite the pain, they remember her for her personality, affection and light that she radiated.
