Actor Bill Cobbs died at the age of 90 in his home in California, surrounded by family and friends who accompanied him until his last minutes of life.

His representative, Chuck Jones, was the one who confirmed the news and explained that the death was due to natural causes due to the artist’s advanced age.

“A beloved companion, older brother, uncle, adoptive father, godfather and friend, Bill recently and joyfully celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by his loved ones,” his brother, Thomas Cobbs, wrote on the social network Facebook.

Remembered for his characters in film in “The Bodyguard” and “A Night at the Museum” or on television in series such as “The Sopranos” or “West Wing”, Bill Cobbs started his career in 1974 and made hundreds of performances both in film and television since that day when a stranger summoned him to act when he was still working as a car salesman. “The Color of Money”, “Air Bud” and “The Big Leap” were other projects he worked on.

Wilbert Francisco Cobbs, such was his real name, was always committed to civil rights and good causes.

“To be an artist you have to have a sense of generosity. Art is something like a prayer. We respond to what we see around us and what we feel, and how things affect us mentally and spiritually,” he said in an interview 20 years ago.
