The attempted millionaire walk was carried out by two armed criminals.

A doctor was about to be a new victim of the millionaire walk modality. During the night of Saturday, May 4, two men approached him a few minutes after arriving at his residence in the El Paseo neighborhood, in the town of Engativá.

On this occasion, unlike the usual robberies under this modality, the criminals did not use a public transport vehicle. According to the victim, two men who were traveling in a vehicle and a motorcycle began to follow him a few blocks from arriving at his house.
After a few meters, the doctor realized that something strange was happening, so he hurried to the garage of his home to put the car away. When this happened, two armed criminals came out from one of the corners of the residence’s block, and proceeded to threaten him to get out of his vehicle.
Once he got out of the car, the criminals proceeded to take his belongings, which included work implements and the vehicle’s papers. While this was happening, one of the robbers hit the doctor with the handle of his gun and knocked him to the floor.
It was at this moment that the victim, as he told City TV, knew that he was not the victim of a conventional street robbery. In addition to seeing how they wanted to steal the ownership papers of her truck, the doctor was able to realize that the criminals were trying to start the car. Apparently, the individuals’ idea was to take the victim with them to clear his accounts and then throw him out of their vehicle.
However, members of the neighborhood security front noticed the events, and proceeded to activate one of the alarms they have. When doing so, the criminals felt afraid, and fled through one of the surrounding blocks, heading towards Boyacá Avenue. Although they were unable to complete what was apparently their objective, the two individuals managed to steal a handful of the doctor’s belongings valued at $5 million.
Neighborhood residents assured that this is not the first time that an event like this has occurred in the sector. Days before, they had already learned of a neighbor who had been a victim of these same criminals. In fact, there is a suspicion that the people involved in the attempted millionaire ride would belong to a criminal structure dedicated to this type of theft.
This information, however, is being collated by the authorities. At the moment, we are awaiting preliminary investigations, based on security cameras in the sector, to find the whereabouts of the criminals.
