Around 725 beneficiaries in La Macarena, Meta, left the Humanitarian Medical Assistance activity carried out by the Municipal Mayor’s Office, in an inter-institutional work with the Joint Task Force Omega, the Air Combat Command No. 2 of the Colombian Air Force, the MASH and Meta Visible Foundations.
To this remote territory located in the east of the country, these entities held a weekend of well-being and health, where residents could have access to specialties such as general medicine, psychology, dentistry, urology, physiotherapy, visual screening, audiometry and glucometry. Likewise, medicines, beauty treatments and animal welfare were delivered.
It should be noted that the logistics to get to La Macarena required a great effort, including the transportation of doctors and servers in a C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Military Transport Air Command from the Apiay Air Base, as well as personnel in charge of providing supplies, organizing patients, adapting the area, among other things, which allowed the population of La Macarena to have access to these specialties that, due to their distance from the urban area, often make it difficult for them to have.
In this way, its Colombian Air Force demonstrates its firm social commitment to the development, well-being and security of the population located in the east of the country, reaching the most remote areas with a single purpose: saving lives.
