The thirty-first edition of the traditional National Academic Olympiads for Medical Students It will be held in the usual format and the FCM UNCUYO hopes to be able to attend with a competitive team that lives up to the great performances achieved in the last 19 meetings. The excellent performance of our delegations, in addition to contributing to the academic prestige of the Faculty, has allowed us to obtain valuable awards such as Internships at Yale (USA), Goethe Frankfurt (Germany) and Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires.
The Secretary of Student Affairs of the FCM informs 4th and 5th year Medicine students that pre-registration to be part of the local team will be open until 11 a.m. on July 5. The Mendoza delegation will have transportation covered, while the living expenses will be the responsibility of each student. The total cost of accommodation, with full board at the Parque Hotel de la Ciudad de la Falda, is approximately $195,000.
How to apply to be part of the UNCUYO delegation
The following requirements must be met:
- Possess a minimum general average of 7 points (with deadlines included) in the Basic Cycle subjects.
- Have taken and passed all the subjects of the Basic Cycle in a period of no more than three and a half years. This information will be obtained from the SIU.
Pre-registration can be done through the ONLINE FORM, until 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5.
Students who pre-register will be contacted by the SAE in order to communicate how an order of merit will be established to complete the delegation’s quota.
Those students who are interested in being part of our team for the XXXI Olympics can contact the Student Affairs Secretariat during the pre-registration period in order to obtain more information and clear up any doubts regarding the rules.
The competition
We work on a questionnaire with 100 multiple choice questions, referring to contents of subjects of the Basic Cycle that are common to the participating faculties. The questions include 10 written in English and 10 general knowledge questions.
The subjects included in the questionnaire are:
- Normal Anatomy
- Cell Biology, Histology and Embryology
- Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
- Biomedical Physics
- Human physiology
- Pathology
- Medical Parasitology and Mycology
- Medical Bacteriology and Virology
Those who obtain the first 10 positions will win important prizes, including a scholarship for a one-month internship at the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires.
