The moving story of Leonor Benedetto’s adopted son

Leonor Benedetto, a renowned Argentine actress, revealed in a recent interview the moving story of what the adoption process was like for her youngest son, Marcos, who is now 36 years old. For Benedetto, Marcos is her great love story, since it was he who chose her when she was barely 2 years old.

The story begins when Leonor Benedetto, at a time of high media exposure and looking for an escape from the maelstrom of fame, decided to work as a volunteer at Casa Cuna. It was there where she met Marcos, a 2-year-old boy who had been abandoned at the scene. “That was love. I have that experience. When everything goes like that. That essentially happened to him,” said the actress.

The bond between the two quickly strengthened, so much so that one day Marcos asked Benedetto to take him with her. Moved by the boy’s request, Benedetto decided to take matters into her own hands and appear before a judge to explain the situation. Despite not meeting the usual requirements for adoption, such as being a biological mother of two children, being divorced and not having a steady income, the process was surprisingly quick and easy. “It was all very fast, very easy. I will be grateful to that man for life,” said Benedetto.

This gesture of love and determination led to Marcos finally being given up for adoption to Benedetto, who received him with open arms. “That’s love. What he and I have and sometimes the older ones get angry but he is the one who gives back the most and the one who gives the least buts,” said the actress, moved by the bond she shares with her son.

Despite the challenges and difficulties he faced in the adoption process, Benedetto does not hesitate to affirm that his decision to foster Marcos was one of the best he has made in his life. Marcos, for her part, has proven to be a loving and affectionate son, as evidenced by a funny anecdote shared by the actress.

“One day the four of us were eating. Then Marcos, who was very young, asked me: ‘Mom, when you had Marie Antoinette, did it hurt you?’ ‘Yes,’ I answered. ‘And when you had Nicolás, did it also hurt?’ Did it hurt you?’, he asked me again. ‘Yes, too,’ I said. Then he looks at them and says: ‘Did you see? I didn’t make her suffer,'” Benedetto recalled with a laugh, evidencing the deep love and affection. complicity they share as a family.
