The musician Claudio Narea shared a reflection on the social outbreak and the triple homicide that shakes the Carabineros.

In his X account, the former member of Los Prisioneros acknowledged that “I supported the outbreak” and explained that “I couldn’t believe what was happening, people had grown tired of the abuse and reacted violently”.
However, he clarified that “I didn’t burn anything or participate in looting, like the vast majority of people. The murder of police officers has nothing to do with 18/O”.
In passing, he specified that “I am not ashamed to go against the abusers, who continue to sell the fish, from big companies, Congress and the media”.
As expected, the responses were immediate. And in the face of criticism, the artist maintained that “If I wrote something against the police it was about police violence”.

“A criminal or looter should be arrested and sent to prison, it is fair. But a police officer must have protocols and that is what was not seen. They looked as criminal as the rest. There are videos”he added.
Finally, he assured that “I am against the police (or pacos) who do not do their job responsibly and professionally. A criminal or a violent kid is the same thing, let justice take care of it. And yet, I support the honest police officers and regret their unjust deaths.”.
