On Saturday, April 20, 2024, television host Leonardo “Leo” Caprile, 64, was urgently hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

“I had abnormal and suspicious symptoms that made me go to a hospital, where I received emergency treatment. The diagnosis: a cerebral infarction,” he said days later.

Although he assured that he did not have any sequelae because he arrived at the clinic on time, he did have to implement various changes in his lifestyle to take care of his health.

He smoked 20 cigarettes a day

More than two weeks after the stroke, Leo Caprile told LUN that “I don’t have any after-effects, I did have to make some changes to my daily life. For example, quit smoking.”

The former television presenter smoked a pack of 20 cigarettes a day before suffering the stroke.

He smoked a small pack a day, that is, 20 cigarettes. Fortunately, I don’t have a single desire to smoke, it was a stupid idea to do so. I smell the cigarette and it doesn’t make me want to smoke,” he confessed, later clarifying that it hasn’t been difficult for him to give up cigarettes.

Other modifications that he implemented are related to physical activity and the foods he consumes. “It’s not that they have told me to eat chia with papaya every day, but rather that – I have to – give up red meat a little and eat more lean meats or white and more vegetables,” he said.

Although he confesses to not having been a good eater before he got the ACV, he did admit that “maybe he abused mayonnaise and red meat.”

Leo Caprile suffers from hypertension and also had many personal problems that may have influenced the diagnosis.

Added to the above is the fact that he was not constant in the consumption of his blood pressure pills. “I would take it one day and go three days without taking it. Very disorganized. With the cholesterol pills too, one day yes, one day no, I totally thought nothing was happening, because I was fine,” he said.

Regarding the causes of stroke, he was honest saying: “More than what I ate, you have to take care of it, Basically it happened to me because of the pressure. It went up a lot and I’m hypertensive.. “Many things came together, I also had my father living with me, a large dining room I built burned down, my sweet dog died.”

Finally, the communicator closed by saying: “I was putting pressure on myself, negative things. Another thing that also influenced me was sleep apnea, plus I added carbon dioxide with the cigarette.”
