Last year it was announced that the historic Colombian soap opera, I am Betty the Ugly onewould have a new sequel with the original cast, which would be titled Ugly Betty.
And finally, to the happiness of the fans, the release date of this new Ugly Betty: will be released worldwide on Friday, July 19 via Prime VideoAmazon streaming.
Along with the premiere date, the company released the first image of the look that the protagonist, Beatriz “Betty” Pinzón, played by the famous Colombian actress Ana María Orozco, will have.
The new look is a clear homage to Betty’s appearance in the original television serieswith wavy hair, a scarf and thick red frame glasses.
Furthermore, they published the first video preview (teaser)which also pays tribute to the old soap opera, recreating the iconic opening scene from the first episode.
Let us remember that I am Betty the Ugly one It premiered in 1999, exactly 25 years ago, and continues to be very loved by the entire Latin American audience who saw it at that time, and also by young people who discover it for the first time thanks to streaming.
The new series, which has the subtitle “The story continues,” will be located 20 years after the original story and will show how the lives of the well-known characters in the production have evolved.

On the occasion, Cepeda expressed that “it is very nice to see, receive so much love from people. It’s incredible, really. Thinking back 25 years ago when we were doing Ugly BettyI never imagined this in my life.
