The renowned filmmaker David Lynch and his muse and frequent collaborator, Chrystabell, come together again to release a new album titled Cellophane Memories. This record project, which is emerging as an introspective work full of symbolism, will be released on August 2, 2024 through the Sacred Bone Records record label.
The inspiration for this work arose from a dream experience experienced by Lynch during a night walk through a forest. “I saw a bright light in the treetops,” says the director, “and that light became the tone of Chrystabell’s voice, who revealed a secret to me.”
The first single is titled “Sublime Eternal Love”, and is now available on streamingaccompanied by a video clip directed by the creator of Twin Peaks. In the song, the actress and singer shows off her warm voice and recites: “she fell crying, screaming, she cried, she cried for understanding, and the noise became music.”
The music video, meanwhile, features Chrystabell in three different versions of herself, harmonizing their voices and creating an immersive atmosphere.
Lynch and Chrystabell have released two albums together, The Air Is on Fire in 2018 and This Is the World in 2021. They have also worked together on the return of the popular television series Twin Peaks (third season) where she plays the role of Agent Tammy Preston.

At the same time, the filmmaker is working on finding sponsors for his new animated film, Snootworld. Lynch began working on the script two decades ago with Caroline Thompson, a former Tim Burton collaborator who wrote the screenplays for The strange world of Jack, The young scissors hands and The Addams Family (1991).
“I recently thought that someone might be interested in this project, so I pitched it to Netflix in the last few months, but it was rejected,” Lynch revealed in an interview with deadline.
He explained that for the platform’s executives, Snootworld It was “a somewhat dated story” since current animation “focuses more on superficial jokes.” “Traditional fairy tales are considered old-fashioned: apparently people don’t care about them. The original story centers on Snoots, small creatures who, upon turning eight, go through a ritual transition in which they become even smaller for a year and must be sent away for their safety. This period becomes complicated for the protagonist, who disappears and his family cannot find him, taking him into a “crazy and magnificent world.”
Lynch isn’t sure when he started on the Snoots, “but at first I was drawing them and then a story started to emerge. “I met with Caroline and we worked on the script.” The filmmaker has not yet decided whether he will direct the film, in addition to producing and co-writing it, but the possibility remains open.
