Cibeles de cine, the summer film series hosted by the Crystal Palace, returns for its ninth edition. From June 27 to September 12, more than 75 films will be screened in the CentroCentro Crystal Gallery. EL PAÍS has its own space on Fridays, with the “EL PAÍS Film Sessions” where the public can enjoy the titles that the newspaper’s subscribers have chosen.

After hosting more than 33,000 spectators in the last edition, this year’s billboard brings classics such as At the end of the getaway and cinema Paradisogreat hits of the season like Civil War and Furiosa: from the Mad Max sagaor the best independent and auteur cinema such as Past Lives and Anatomy of a fall, among others. On Fridays, according to the vote of EL PAÍS subscribers, titles such as El Especialista, Back to Black, Fly me to the Moon, We will always have tomorrow, Disco Ibiza locomía, Bitelchús Bitelchús, either Rivals.

Saturdays will be reserved for the screening of films for the whole family such as Wonka either Inside out 2 and some of the national films, such as Second Prize, Nina or Robot Dreamswill have the presence of part of their technical and artistic team.

Accompanying the film series will be the exhibition of Spanish photographer Jorge Fuembuena. 24 giant portraits of some of the most prominent faces on the national and international art scene will hang from the dome of the Cibeles Palace throughout the summer.

Over the course of 11 weeks (except July 6), spectators will be able to access the venue from 8:00 p.m. to enjoy the exhibition, the space and the leisure and restaurant area. The screening of the film will begin at 10:00 p.m. With the aim of promoting immersion and the quality of the viewer’s experience, the films will be watched with wireless headphones and in front of a high-definition screen.

This year’s poster pays tribute to the film The law of silence, which celebrates its 70th anniversary. The film, starring Marlon Brando and Eva Marie Saint, won eight Oscars and can be seen at Cibeles de Cine.

Once again Cinetronik events will return, combining silent cinema with a soundtrack of live electronic music. The films that can be enjoyed in this format are The Man with the Camera, scored by the artist Huma, and The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari, by the artist Caliza.

The July programming and ticket sales are now available at cibelesdecine.com. The billboard for the months of August and September will be announced soon on the website.
