The health of her son is a matter of concern for the presenter, who was diagnosed with a medical condition called macrocephaly at 3 months old. This condition causes a risk of autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and seizures, according to experts.
The model explained to Flavia Dos Santos that “when they discovered that her head circumference was growing more than normal. “They sent us to do some X-rays on her and they realized something that was on her mind.” Likewise, she mentioned that her son’s head grew seven centimeters, which caused the infant intense pain. “The doctor told us that it was not normal for him to grow so much, and he was going to do an x-ray to find out what was happening with Salvador. Later they tell us that Salvador had water in his head,” he added.
The experience he had with the youngest of his children inspired Cruz to found ‘Salvador de Sueños’, an organization focused on medical care for children with health problems. The foundation holds events to raise funds and provide necessary treatment and psychological support for minors.
“When I experienced this whole issue with Salva, which moved me so much, I began to realize that, first, one is very lucky because one has a good job with a good salary with which you can pay for good health insurance; But, also, people believe that one’s life is perfect, that one does not suffer, but that is not reality,” the presenter revealed in an interview on the entertainment program Network.
