A 50-year-old former police officer from Manizales is the main suspect in the death of the renowned music producer Daniel Alejandro Velásquez Franco, known as Dr. Velásquez; and his partner, Sofía Riascos Valdés; killed by gunshot.
He was the musician’s butler. At a hearing they legalized his capture and tomorrow they will define the security measure.
The discovery of the lifeless bodies occurred at dawn on Saturday in the parcel Watercolor, located in Las Palmas, in Envigado.
In two different rooms of house number 18, the bodies of Velásquez, 40, and Riascos, 23, were found with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Sofia was wrapped in sheets.
The Caldense mayordomo was captured for double homicide and illegal possession of weapons.
Dr Velásquez was an influential figure in the urban genre, known for collaborating with artists of the caliber of Maluma, Reykon and J Balvin. Her career had been prolific and she was behind the success of several talents, including Blessd and El Clooy.
Sofia worked as real estate agent and real estate appraiser in Medellín and Eastern Antioquia. She was also an entrepreneur with her perfume brand, La Genuina.
According to the initial police report, The man from Manizale was drunk when he declared that he had spent the night with Velásquez and Riascos drinking liquor
He reported that the woman went to sleep first and that, later, he went out to buy more alcohol. Upon his return, he found them both murdered with several shots to the head.
