In “Peter Five Eight,” Spacey plays a hitman named Peter, who, under orders from his enigmatic boss, infiltrates a small town to murder a real estate agent named Sam. The actor explained that he has no qualms about playing a “villain” and that his goal is not to judge the characters he plays, saying: “It’s important not to let external noise influence what I can bring to a character.”
Spacey, known for his roles in “House of Cards” and “American Beauty,” mentioned that he focused on making sure everyone on set had a good experience. Filming for “Peter Five Eight” took place in California between late 2021 and early 2022, and according to the actor, the atmosphere on set was “cozy and pleasant.”
The actor denied having been inspired by previous characters for his role in this film and emphasized that he does not see this work as a “turning point” in his 40-year career.
