Gustavo Lorgia was one of the pioneers of the world of magic and illusionism in Colombia. This June 14, at the age of 73, his death was confirmed due to spinal shock after being hospitalized for several days.

For years, Gustavo Lorgia hid the most impressive secrets of magic. His talent for combining mystery and improvisation made him one of the most recognized figures who stole the hearts of Colombians.
On May 18, 1951, he was born in the Santafé neighborhood of the city of Bogotá. He came from a family of magicians and, although his parents wanted something different for him – to be a doctor – his dream was always to dazzle everyone with his skills.
In the afternoon his children, María Paula and Gustavo, confirmed his death: “This message is for all of our father’s family, friends and colleagues, who have supported, admired and filled him with courage in these last days. After the spinal shock he suffered a little more than 15 days ago, Today he stopped clinging to life and died. There are no words to describe the pain that her departure causes us.”

This was his last video
May 25 was the last video that Gustavo Lorgia uploaded on his networks. In the footage, the magician announced the event he was going to hold on June 1.
“Hello friends, I’m Gustavo Lorgia, this Saturday, June 1, at seven at night, there will be a fantastic show”he said at that time.
According to the official site of the event, the meeting was scheduled for the beginning of this month, in the city of Medellín. The magician was going to share the stage with fellow illusionist Felipe Pineda.
“I will bring the best of my repertoire. We are going to have a wonderful time in a fantastic place in La Corte, Medellín,” he commented.
What is known about his funeral?
So far, it is unknown when Lorgia’s funeral will take place. Nevertheless, It was learned that his daughter, María Paula, shared details and assured: “It will be a special event, as my father requested.”
