The composer born in Soledad, Atlántico, was going to turn 106 on August 7.

At the age of 12, he was taken to live in Barranquilla, but he never stopped going to his homeland, the municipality of Soledad.

It was a constant back and forth as he grew up to become a composer in the 1940s, according to his musical biography.

The first song he composed was called ‘Beach’, but other performers renamed it ‘Beach, breeze and sea’.

Curiously, the birth of Rafael Campo Miranda coincided with the creation of Junior de Barranquilla, which was about to celebrate its centenary.

The teacher was a furious fan of the Barranquilla team.

Campo will be remembered as one of the great composers at the national level, leaving an indelible legacy, marked by the tributes in life that he had already received and that highlight his work.
