Noah Schnappthe 19-year-old actor known for his role in Stranger Thingswas expelled from a nightclub in New York early Saturday after an incident in which he was allegedly “too drunk”according to a source exclusively told to the portal Page Six. This adds to a series of incidents for which he has been criticized on social networks.
An eyewitness reported that Schnapp was enjoying a night at The Palace club and bothering customers who paid for bottle service, urging them to drink tequila shots with him and his group of friends. However, the situation became more tense when people refused to participate, since the actor is a minor.
The witness also noted that Schnapp appeared “angry” at the refusal of the others present.
The same source claimed that the actor was “so drunk” that the club’s security personnel had to escort him out of the establishment around 1:30 a.m.
After being expelled from The Palace, the performer who gives life to Will Byers in the Netflix series, he was on the sidewalk “clearly unable to stand,” according to the witness’ account. Finally, after the scandal, he left the place half an hour later, around 2:00 am
So far, Schnapp has not shared any details of his night on his social media. However, Page Six obtained a video showing the young actor apparently intoxicated, sitting on a couch inside the club hugging a friend. Another video shows him slowly helping a friend sit down while a woman dances on a nearby couch.
Neither representatives for Noah nor The Palace immediately responded to requests for comment made by Page Six. In this way, there is no official source that has answered the entire incident about the star of the famous series created by the Duffer brothers.
Schnapp, known for playing Will Byers in Stranger Things, has had other controversies in the past. In 2020, the actor denied saying the “N” word while singing the song “Freaky Friday” in a resurfaced video from 2019, which landed him in the middle of a social media controversy.
Two years later, singer Doja Cat criticized him for sharing direct messages she had sent him, in which she asked him to put her in touch with her co-star Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson on the series. This incident sparked comments about the young star.
“I assumed he was going to be laid-back about it and share information that I didn’t feel comfortable sharing,” the “Paint the Town Red” singer said in an Instagram Live video in July 2022.
In the fall of last year, fans also criticized Schnapp when he shared a video in which he was seen laughing while people around him flashed stickers reading “Zionism is sexy” and “Hamas is Isis.” Schnapp, who is Jewish, expressed his support for Israel following the Hamas terrorist attack in October 2023.
In January, Schnapp broke his silence on the matter in a since-deleted TikTok video, where he declared that his “beliefs have been so misinterpreted.” At that time he added: “I just want peace and security for all the innocent people affected by this conflict.”
Schnapp remains a prominent figure due to his role in Stranger Things, which continues to be one of the most watched series on Netflix. Despite recent controversies and his controversial behavior, his popularity among fans of the series remains intact in the run-up to what will be the last season of the show.
