Popular music singer Robinson Gallego Galeano, 47, died on June 24, as a result of serious injuries he suffered in an altercation that occurred after one of his performances in Santa Rosa de Cabal, Risaralda.
Gallego was attacked during the night hours of June 12 in a home in the municipality where he was singing for a family event. The artist died after fighting for his life for twelve days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the San Jorge de Pereira Hospital.

The attacks happened at the end of his show, when Gallego decided to stay at the residence of his hosts, with whom he had a friendly relationship. According to witnesses, the celebration progressed with the consumption of liquor, and at some point, the singer started an argument with one of the guests for reasons that have not yet been clarified. The situation escalated from verbal attacks to a physical fight, as revealed by local media that spread the news on networks such as Facebook.
One of the witnesses to the event, cited by Timerelated: “After a while, the two men got into a fight that we managed to avoid momentarily by separating them.” However, the attacker, whose name has not been revealed, went to a vehicle and obtained a knife. He immediately went against Gallego and wounded him. According to reports, he stabbed her twice, one in the chest, and the other in the back.
At first, those present did not understand the seriousness of Gallego’s injuries and decided to sit him down. However, they realized that the injuries were serious, so they took him to a health center, the San Jorge Hospital in the municipality, because they saw “his condition worsen.”
While the popular music singer was being rushed to the medical center, the attacker fled in the same vehicle from which he took the weapon. However, a few days later, news media reported that the man voluntarily surrendered to the authorities. In that sense, the investigation was opened, given that the man was not detained in flagrante delicto by uniformed Police officers.
The San Jorge de Pereira Hospital confirmed in a statement: “Gallego was admitted to the ICU due to serious injuries suffered during the attack. Unfortunately, after 12 days of intense fighting, the patient died due to severe complications.” The artistic community and followers of Gallego have expressed their dismay and sadness at the loss of the singer, known for his career in popular music.
The singer’s followers as well as those close to him cannot escape their astonishment and sadness. On social networks, friends and family have decided to leave messages of support for the singer’s loved ones. “Good friend, may God rest his soul”; “Our great friend Robinson Gallego left. Rest. In that same municipality, a young girl from school was attacked in the middle of the street in front of the educational campus facilities. The act of violence, which occurred on Tuesday, May 7, involved a woman who hit a minor student in the middle of a public street, according to several witnesses.
The video of the attack was broadcast on social networks, and it shows how several bystanders, including two men, intervened to break up the fight. Municipal authorities have launched an investigation into the events.
This is the second such incident to be discovered in the municipality in a short period of time. Local authorities are on alert and are looking for measures to prevent future incidents of this type.
