The regional Mexican music singer will be recognized on June 27 with star number 2,783, in the recording category, in front of Capitol Records on Vine Street. Mexican pop star Gloria Trevi will speak during the ceremony and Rivera’s five children — Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka and Michael — will accept the star on her behalf.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor the legendary Jenni Rivera with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” he said. Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame, in a statement. “Jenni’s star represents not only her incredible accomplishments as an artist, but also her resilience, bravery and unbreakable spirit that continues to inspire fans around the world.”

At the time of her death on December 9, 2012, Rivera, 43, was at the peak of her career and the most successful woman in regional Mexican music and in the charts latinos from Billboard. With anthems like “Inolvidable”, “De contrabando”, “Basta ya” and “Resulta”, she made her way in a genre dominated by men.

Rivera placed more than 30 songs on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart, 15 of them in the top 10. On the Hot Latin Songs chart, he placed a total of 25 songs, two of which reached the top 10: “Now that you were far away” and “The same great lady.”
