Gangs, war and piece is a Colombian television series that was originally produced by Fox Telecolombia and was initially broadcast in Channel One. Later, the transmission passed into the hands of RCN Television. The series is considered one of the best of the years 2000 and reflects the reality of justice and crime in Colombia.

The plot begins in 1999 and focuses on the town of Ciudad Bolívar, in Bogotá. It tells the story of a small group of gang members who grow to become the most dangerous criminals in the city. The series addresses various problems that affect Colombian youth and presents rehabilitated real-life characters who seek to teach and reflect on life in marginal neighborhoods.

Additionally, ‘Gangs, War and Peace II’ also aired, exploring new situations and characters. The production, created by Gustavo Bolivar Morenoreflects the harsh reality of gangs in Bogotá and communities affected by poverty and violence.

Now, Freddy Ordóñez, known for his role as “old Javi” in the successful Colombian series “Gangs, War and Peace,” has expressed regret for having been in the production. Although his character was engraved in the viewers’ memories, Freddy has struggled to disassociate himself from that gang member image.

In an interview, he mentioned that if he could go back in time, he would not have accepted the role: “I appreciate it for the success, I appreciate it for the work. I have considered that it was a program that marked certain generations and I consider with all the respect that my colleagues and Gustavo Bolívar deserve; As I see it, it did a lot of damage, because many wanted to be these characters and perhaps they thought that the path was the easy way.”, I mention Los 40 Colombia.

Despite the difficulties in finding work after the series, he continued his career as an actor, participating in other productions such as “Arelys Henao”.

It is important to highlight the legacy of the series “Gangs, war and piece” in Colombia is significant. Although the production addressed controversial topics such as gangs, violence and redemption in marginal neighborhoods, it also raised awareness about social reality and the need to find alternatives for at-risk youth.
