“Venus personifies the essence of empowerment and feminine strength,” says Serre, who recalls that this tennis star was also the first black player in history to reach number one in the world ranking and spoke out in favor of the equality of awards between men and women: “Who has a similar career? Adding to the excitement was the opportunity to parade through the Place Vendôme with her sister, Serena Williams. “Every time I have the opportunity to work with my sister, it always happens in the best way,” says Venus. “I have been very lucky to have her by my side in the most special moments of my career.”
Tonight, Serena Williams paraded alongside her in an Off-White dress customized by Ib Kamara. “The idea was to represent Serena’s iconic career through Off-White’s sporty aesthetic,” said Kamara, who, in addition to designing looks for Vogue World 2024also helped produce the event.
“The dress is mainly made of two different fabrics: a sports top and a silk georgette skirt. The graphics on the dress are a mix of Off-White codes and looks that Serena wore in the past, during her matches,” and so that no one forgets the status of Serena as one of the best athletes of all timeread “QUEEN OF QUEENS” printed on the white panels of the dress.

“I wasn’t a big tennis fan when I was little. But I have the most vivid memory of watching Serena win a match and my sisters and I feeling so inspired watching a black woman so confident and powerful,” says Kamara.
