Like Antonio Banderas, Rafa Nadal, Pau Gasol or Cristiano Ronaldo, the singer Melendi also has his own restaurant. And there are many celebrities who dare to try their luck in the world of gastronomy. In the case of Oviedo, has opened ‘La Boca Junta’ in partnership with his lifelong friendsa place located in Ibiza where Asturian cuisine merges with Mediterranean cuisine.
This “baby”, as Melendi himself defines it, is located in Portinatx cove and has a sailor decoration that attracts the attention of all Instagrammers. “We were looking for a name and we were clear that a song of mine had to come from it. ‘La boca junta’ is a fresh and summery name”says the singer in statements to Elle magazine. Although the restaurant opened its doors in June 2023, it has not been discovered until now that it is owned by the Asturian.
“I would have named it after other of my songs, ‘El arrepentido’, but they wouldn’t have left us a tip (…) ‘The mouth together’ is still a baby who has a long way to go”, he adds with a laugh, showing off his usual sense of humor.
A very charming place
“I lived in Ibiza for just over a year at the beginning of 2000 and I have a very special relationship with the island. It is a place where I go to disconnect whenever I can,” Melendi continues to say in the aforementioned medium.
Diners who want to enjoy the experience of ‘La Boca Junta’ will be able to do so from a large terrace located a few meters from the beach and with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. The characteristic note of this place is its menu, which draws attention to numerous typical dishes of northern gastronomy that are not common in Ibiza restaurants: “You can eat a turbot or a hake directly brought from the Cantabrian sea or a sea bass from the Mediterranean. ”.
The menu amounts to 42 euros, drinks apart. “We also have a menu of five tapas plus a dessert in the center that also includes bread with aioli.”, they also count. As for desserts, his friend Miguel takes the floor: “We make the best ice cream in the world, Turrón Verdú, wonderful.”
