They say he is in his best personal and professional stage. Do you agree with this?

It makes me laugh when they tell me that, I don’t know, I leave room for what I can still improve… But I feel in a wonderful stage of my personal life and also incredible musically, and that has a lot to do with doing what I love. you feel like it and people receive it with that same attitude and applaud it. That makes me feel in a super privileged moment.

There are 12 new songs, two years of work… How do you define the new album?

It is an album that is divided into three aspects and each of them defines me a lot, that is why the title “García” was what I wanted to do at this moment. On the one hand, there are regional Mexican songs, that part of me as a Latina; then a more tropical part, cumbia and bachata… essential and necessary coming from Puerto Rico; and the other more pop part, which I think is the one that most people know about me in these 16 years. And I have accompanied that with lyrics that I think affect us all, about everyday life.

Many of the lyrics are about self-improvement, with feeling and, at the same time, a lot of strength. Is it a bit the seal that defines you?

In a way yes, because I always try to look for lyrics that, at the same time, speak to a current and strong woman, who not only overcomes herself, but has also left that musical past in which she talked about being dumped and They broke my heart… I visualize a woman from 2024, who lives, suffers and is still vulnerable, but is very clear about her rightful place. The woman in my head is the one who ultimately writes all these songs.

This summer, this is your second tour in Spain and your first in Valencia. What do you expect from this concert and what will it offer the public?

Yes, it is my first time in Valencia and I am really excited. It is a place I have visited countless times with my family, but getting up on stage is different. One of the nicest things I enjoyed about the last tour in Spain was going to places like Seville, because it is nothing like, for example, doing a show in Barcelona, Malaga, Murcia… even if it is with the same repertoire. And that is something I am really passionate about, it is getting to know each other a little better, just like having a first date with someone.

This album has numerous collaborations and you have also recently done some with Cristian Nodal, Carla Morrison, Karim León and Young MikoX. Are you particularly excited? What do you learn from each other? What does a collaboration mean for an artist?

Imagine… I always try to think about the playlist of the person with whom I am going to collaborate and the audience that listens to it, that it is interesting even if they do not expect it and in that way I was ‘assembling’ the collaborations, learning from each one of them. them, of what was good for them, and also as a composer, in an ‘artisanal’ way. Also respecting the audience that has been with me for a long time and what things might sound interesting to them on my playlist. I am super satisfied, super happy and there is always room for more… and that is the beautiful thing, to continue making collaborations that add to me.

She says she is very happy with this album. The previous one was considered one of the best Latin albums. How have you surpassed yourself with this one and how have you tried to go one step further?

For me, the step further had to do with regional music; Doing a duet with Cristian Nodal changes my perspective, it’s another way to make more basic pop; and opt for doing more things with instruments… In this album people are going to feel that I explore a lot more… but when I make a new album, I don’t think about how to improve myself, but about how to continue entertaining myself and continue being curious and continue connecting. It is an album that excites me, makes me proud and that people are going to connect with it a lot; And with that, whatever comes.
