Los Angeles (USA) (EFE).- Sharon Stone called on women in the United States to vote for the current occupant of the White House, Joe Biden, in the upcoming elections despite the disappointment caused in the debate against his rival, former President Donald Trump (2017-2021).
“Ladies, remember this: no matter how asleep Joe may seem, he is wide awake for you. So vote for yourselves,” said the American actress in a brief video posted on her Instagram account.
Sharon Stone comes out to support the Democrats
The 66-year-old actress, known for films such as ‘Basic Instinct’ and ‘The Quick and the Dead’, showed her support for the Democratic candidate after panic broke out in Biden’s party over his hesitant performance in the electoral debate.
Feminist stance against Trump
Stone’s claim for the female vote is given above all by the divergent stance of both candidates on issues such as abortion.
While Biden is committed to recognizing the constitutional right to abortion throughout the country, Trump said he leaves the issue in the hands of state laws and showed his support for states that prohibit it.
A study by the Center for American Women in Politics (CAWP) found that women have outnumbered men in every presidential election since 1964.
