‘The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum‘ is the new film from the universe created by JRR Tolkien and will be directed by Andy Serkisthe outstanding actor recognized among many roles for having played Gollum, one of the most emblematic characters in fantasy works. Serkis recently appeared at the ACE Superhero Comic Con, where he spoke about the long-awaited film.
Andy Serkis highlighted that “’The Hunt for Gollum’ is a title in the making. It may not end up being called that. It’s going to be the world of Middle Earth according to Gollum’s experience. It is too early; It would be unfair to commit to anything at this time. But I will say that it will be a deep dive in which we will investigate the character of Gollum. There may be characters we recognize who could return. “I’m not going to say who.”
Gollum’s return to the big screen
The film will be produced by Peter Jackson, and Serkis revealed how it all came about: “We started talking about this about eight months ago or so. They were like, ‘Andy, we really want to reinvigorate Middle Earth. There are so many new stories we want to get involved in. We want to kick off this new wave by taking us back to the world of Gollum. ’ They asked me to direct. It’s a dream come true. Working with people I love working with in a country I love working in.”
Serkis also spoke about what it means to return to the big screen, noting that “I see everything as a challenge and an exciting challenge. There’s no point in being terrified about it. Gollum has never abandoned me, so he continues to haunt me inside. Not a day goes by without someone asking me about Gollum. In many ways, I am not afraid. The challenge will be to tell a great story, and we are just at the beginning of that process. We are about to start writing it. It’s all yet to come and it’s exciting. “Slightly scary.”
