More than 100 thousand users, including Rosarians, migrant and returned populations, will be the direct beneficiaries of the new Hospital Jorge Cristo Sahium of Villa del Rosario, whose physical plant was delivered this Holy Wednesday, and would come into operation in the middle of the year.
The delivery of this work corresponds to the completion of the first phase of the ambitious project to improve the department’s hospital network, which began in January 2022 and culminates after 26 months and 18 days of execution.
The Hospital, which will now operate in the La Pastora sector, is the product of a mixed investment of approximately 25 billion pesos, of which 21.9 billion were contributed by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection$300 million from the Mayor’s Office, $200 million from its own resources, in addition to an extra amount of $1,500 million, corresponding to the administrative and co-financing agreement made by the municipal administration, which was allocated to the construction of a retaining wall.

Duban Martínez, manager of the Hospital until March 31, explained that this health center “will continue to maintain Level I careso that it continues to be a decentralized ESCO,” he said.
The new infrastructure will have 4 main blocks, in which 25 external medicine clinics, nine emergency clinics and an operating roomfor small surgeries.
Regarding the ability to hospitalization, Martínez indicated that it would double the current capacity of the headquarters, which has a total of nine beds: three for men, two for women, two for children and two for the postpartum area or delivery room, that is, it would increase to approximately 18. .
