The Minister of Health, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, was at the Family Vaccination Center where the opening took place this week, which will be from April 20 to 27 and which aims to immunize to protect the population from diseases.
“The Pan American Health Organization designed this vaccination week in the Americas to increase immunization coverage in the population. Today we are accompanying the team that works here and we see that people are coming in large numbers and there is a continuous lack of people getting vaccinated. This is very good because the vaccine is a prevention tool for diseases that are serious or potentially lethal. The fact that we have them available in the province is something to value. I want to congratulate the health teams who are constantly working on this,” the minister explained.
The head of the Department of Immunizations of the Province, Dr. Miguel Ferre Contreras, was also there, who invited the population to attend the vaccinations in the province: “We have more than 340 providers with immunizations and they are waiting for people to consult, learn and take the doses that are necessary. We must complete our schemes, since diseases are appearing in the world and we have vaccines to prevent them. In Argentina we have a very extensive vaccination schedule, with 19 vaccines that protect against more than 20 diseases and here we have the opportunity to get them for free.”
Throughout the morning today many people came to the place to get information or get vaccinated, like Ana María, who said that she was immunized against pneumococcus, that this gives her peace of mind and that she was very well cared for by the health teams. Like Víctor, who praised the staff and thanked the minister for his presence. “I invite everyone to complete their schedules because the vaccine protects,” he added. And finally Félix, another patient who was there, said that he gets immunized to avoid health problems. “The attention is great and fast, even though there are many people,” he concluded.
