Around a hundred economic actors in 67 exhibition areas participate in the long-awaited event

As a space for dialogue and negotiation, so that the people of Sancti Spiritus themselves can learn about the potential of their territory, Alexis Lorente Jiménez, governor of Sancti Spíritus, described the first Provincial Exhibition in the field of Commerce and Investment, which under the suggestive name of ExpoYayabo 2024 was officially inaugurated this Thursday in the Yayabo Multipurpose room.

“This is just a first step,” declared Lorente Jiménez, “a form of expression and exchange to take advantage of talent based on territorial development, an indication that the country’s highest leadership has insisted on.”

Around a hundred economic actors in 67 exhibition areas are participating in the long-awaited event, which experts have described as an opportunity to promote links between the business community, make products visible, identify new exportable items and arrange business.

Ignacio Pérez González, director of Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and International Cooperation of the provincial government, confirmed during the inauguration of the exhibition that each participant will have the opportunity to strengthen knowledge and links with other entities, non-agricultural cooperatives and institutions, all of this with the purpose of stimulating economic activity in the province.

Convened by the Government and dedicated to the 510 years of the towns of Trinidad and Sancti Spíritus, ExpoYayabo 2024 is held in an exhibition format, but has also created space for academic exchanges, above all, based on alliances with the University of Sancti Spíritus José Martí Pérez and the Citma delegation.

According to Pérez González, on the afternoon of April 25, an event will also be held in which different topics of interest to economic actors will be addressed, which will complement what was stated and promote the vision of how territorial development is worked. from science and innovation in the province.

Although it has a competitive nature and a jury will award several awards, including the ExpoYayabo 2024 Grand Prize, the event can be visited by the public.

After cutting the ribbon that officially opened the exhibition, Deivy Pérez Martín, first secretary of the Party in Sancti Spíritus, and Alexis Lorente Jiménez toured the main areas, among which those sponsored by Agroindustrial companies stand out for their value in the territory’s economy. from Granos Sur del Jíbaro, from La Sierpe; Obdulio Morales, from Yaguajay, and Militar Industrial, from the capital of Sancti Spiritus.

Laminados Concepción, Gran Cubaya, Ecomadera and La Esperanza are among the new economic actors that show how much more can be done from small businesses or local development projects, depending on Sancti Spíritus and the country.

The highest authorities of the Party and the Government in the main municipality were also present at the inauguration of ExpoYayabo 2024.
