With a significant investment of 13,095 million pesos, the National Government, in collaboration with the Association of Users of the Land Adaptation District (Asojuncal), financed the construction of a rice mill that covers more than 20,000 square meters. This mill will be equipped with cutting-edge technology for the drying, storage, threshing and packaging of rice produced in Palermo and surrounding municipalities such as Campoalegre, Neiva, Rivera and Yaguará.
This initiative will not only benefit the 96 small and medium producers involved, but will also have a positive impact on nearly 1,000 farmers in the area, who will have a technical system to boost their agricultural production and access new markets. President Petro has highlighted the importance of industrializing agricultural production as part of his government program, recognizing that the delivery of land is not enough if it is not accompanied by adequate infrastructure and technology.
