The Department of Social Prosperity reported that This Friday, April 26, payments for the Renta Joven program, formerly called Jóvenes en Acción, begin. The maximum deadline to claim the transfer will be the next May 10, 2024.

The incentives for this first day are aimed at students of the National Learning Service (Sena) who completed enrollment in the last academic period of 2023 and for the beneficiaries of some higher education institutions (IES) with delays in reports and who reported enrollment compliance for the second semester of 2023.

According to Social Prosperity, incentives were approved for 122,494 young people, after verifying compliance with the commitments: 56,329 students from the Sena (last academic period of 2023) and 60,365 from the IES (second semester enrollment in 2023). For these payments, The entity allocated 47,439 million pesos.

In the case of higher education institutions, registrations were granted and incentives will be given to participants linked to the International University of the American Tropics; Francisco de Paula Santander University; Tolimense Institute of Professional Technical Training; National Open and Distance University and University to the Neighborhood agreement with the Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla.

Payment of tuition for the second semester was also scheduled for 6,782 students from the University of La Guajira which was postponed in the month of December.

How will payments be made?

Daviplata, Davivienda’s electronic wallet, will be in charge of delivering the Renta Joven incentives this year. Payment will be made through the following two methods.

Banked: for those young people who have an account with the payment operator DaviPlata. Participants will also be able to collect at ATMs, Puntored, Reval, Tpaga or Efecty points.

Turn: for those who do not have said financial product. The transfers can be collected from DaviPlata’s payment partners, such as Efecty or Reval, following the payment schedule established for each city.

Renta Joven was regulated through Resolution 00137 to begin operating in 2024. It is integrated into the transfer system created by the National Development Plan.
