The judge of the Court of Trial and Appeals of Paraná, Carolina Castagno, resolved this Thursday, April 25, to approve the abbreviated trial agreement presented to her by the prosecutor Mariano Budasoff and the defender Claudio Berón, who assisted Luciano Emanuel Alegre, one of the three accused of the violent assault on the Belloni Distribuciones firm.

The remaining two are Antonio Leonardo Román, a man from Buenos Aires, who settled his situation in an abbreviated trial that was approved on March 1, in which he accepted a sentence of six years of effective compliance; while the third, Sebastián Ramón Brites, Alegre’s father-in-law and former soccer player who, among others, wore the Club Atlético Patronato jersey, remains a fugitive with an arrest warrant.

The judge indicated that Luciano Emanuel Alegre was “the material author and responsible for the crime of simple robbery, as an instigator, and sentenced him to three years in prison, under the modality of conditional execution.” He imposed rules of conduct for the duration of the sentence. The prosecutor, accompanied by the complaint and the defense, requested that the preventive detention, which Alegre had been serving under the form of house arrest, be annulled and that his immediate release be ordered.

Castagno also accepted the economic reparation that Alegre made and resolved to “establish as economic reparation to the victim, the delivery to Guillermo Horacio Belloni of the sum of 4,000,000 pesos to be deposited in a judicial account; and the payment of 14 monthly and consecutive installments, of the sum of 500 dollars, in cash at the offices of the plaintiff lawyers from the 1st to the 15th of each month.” In this sense, he ordered that “the victim’s acceptance of the reparation offer be taken into account, as ratified by his representatives.”

Alegre, 35 years old, unemployed, who knows how to read and write, with completed secondary education, without addictions or illnesses that prevent him from understanding his actions and who has no countable criminal record, was charged in the following terms: “Luciano Emanuel Alegre, who worked for the company Belloni Distribuciones, located at 1040 Bartolomé Zapata Street in this capital, he provided the necessary information to Antonio Leonardo Román and Sebastián Ramón Brites about the firm’s money movements, motivating both of them so that on Saturday, July 22, 2023, around 9:50 a.m., they entered the company posing as clients, violently overpowered the REM employee with seals, and, knowing where the money was kept, stole the sum of $30,000 from the offices there. Americans and 2,000,000 pesos.”
