The champions return to Ochilview tomorrow where they take on Bonnyrigg Rose in the penultimate match of the cinch league two season.

It will be a special day for everyone at Stenhousemuir, as they will be presented with their first ever league trophy after the match.

The champions come into the match off the back off seven straight draws. The last being a 2-2 draw away at Clyde. The Bully Wee opened the scoring early on through Robbie Leitch, but Stenhousemuir responded well through Edin Lynch who equalized just before half time. Jordan Kirkpatrick then put Stenhousemuir in front with his long rage effort. But Barry Cuddihy was on hand for Clyde to make sure they got a draw.

Gary Naysmith previewed tomorrow’s match saying, “It’s going to be a very special day for players and staff and everyone at the club. We want to go out and put on a really good show and show why we are the league champions. But Bonnyrigg are fighting for their lives, so it’s not going to be an easy game.”

Jordan Kirkpatrick also previewed the match saying, “We’ll prepare as we have been doing all season. The performances have been good, so we’ll keep that up, concentrate on the game and enjoy ourselves after it.”

The Rose and Stenhousemuir have played out three even matches this season. The have been able to win all three. The first victory came at New Dundas Park in September when an Edin Lynch header separated the two sides.

The last match was at a snowy Ochilview in December where again the Warriors were 1-0 victors. Matty Aitken got on the end of an Adam Brown free kick midway through the first half to give the Warriors the victory.

The third victory was back at New Dundas Park where on a difficult pitch the champions had to grind out the victory and did so with Matty Aitken scoring from a Bradley Rodden corner in the 81st minute to get a big victory.

Since the last match, Bonnyrigg have changed their manager, Callum Elliot is now in charge of the Rose and although they are still near the foot of the division, results have picked up, with draws against Peterhead and Stranraer, and also a 4-1 victory against East Fife at Bayview. They do however come into the match on the back of a 1-0 defeat against The Spartans.

Stenhousemuir and Bonnyrigg have only played each other five times. The Warriors have won three and drawn twice.
