This Friday, April 26, the sentence was announced for Álvaro Freddy Córdoba, who obtained a reduced sentence after pleading guilty in January of this year. Initially, the United States justice system had requested between 17 and 21 years in prison.

However, Piedad Córdoba’s brother was finally sentenced to 14 years for drug trafficking crimes, after being extradited on January 20, 2023.

The sentence, which includes 4 years of supervised release, was imposed by Judge Lewis J. Liman of the Southern District Court of New York, as reported by Caracol Radio.
